Learn about interesting tropical wildlife and exciting new species by observing and interacting with our scientific team at the Foundation for Rainforest Research. Our team and Foundation are dedicated to ongoing scientific investigation as part of our commitment to understand and protect the biodiversity of Costa Rica's rainforests.
Veragua is the most frog-diverse place in all of Costa Rica, with 54 distinct frog species.
Here, partnering with the University of Costa Rica, we work to unlock nature’s mysteries and expand world knowledge of the rainforest’s fragile ecosystem-- and share our findings with
visitors up close and personal.
To date, we have discovered 11 new species of plants and animals! You will see why Harvard University’s professor of zoology said the Veragua Rainforest has “incredible biodiversity” with “outstanding species richness”.
