Its geographic location, tropical weather, and topography define the country’s status as a unique biological corridor allowing the existence of a great variety of ecosystems in a small concentrated area. In Costa Rica you can visit forests, beaches, rivers, and volcanoes without traveling great distances between them.

Costa Rica is renowned worldwide for abolishing its army in 1948, and for being one of the first and most solid democracies in Latin America. It is a country of peace, characterized by its impressive natural wealth, consolidated system of protected areas, political and social stability, and high education and human development indexes.
