Limón, well known for its national parks,
whitewater rafting and pristine beaches is now the home of the newest
tourist attraction, Veragua Rainforest Research & Adventure Park.
Located less than one
hour from the historic Caribbean town of Limón, the
park includes among other attractions, the largest indoor nocturnal frog
exhibit in the world, butterfly garden, reptile vivarium, hummingbird
garden, a fascinating tram ride through the rainforest canopy,
spectacular walking trails through the primary rainforest and a
magnificent waterfall; all surrounded by breathtaking panoramic views of
La Amistad International Park.
Veragua Rainforest is the perfect shore excursion for cruise visitors
who only have a few hours to experience as many of Costa Rica’s wonders
as possible, and who want to do so with minimal on-shore travel time.
Please visit our Limon
Shore Excursion section.
Veragua Rainforest
Research & Adventure Park is located on a 1300-hectare
(approximately 4000 acre) private reserve surrounded by 100% Rainforest.
The park is a buffer zone for La Amistad International Park (“Friendship
International Park”), which is shared by Costa Rica and Panamá.
The region’s consistently pleasant climate makes a visit to Veragua
Rainforest a fabulous
experience all year round.
