Veragua Rainforest was honored for its architecture design:

During the 2008 "IX Bienal de Arquitectura", Veragua Rainforest architect, Juan Ignacio Acuña, received the Metalco award for applying ecological sustainable construction techniques, with the use of steel. This is the Costa Rican version of the "Pritzker Architecture Prize".
