Hacienda Milla 25
A real working farm, owned by an industrious costarican family, the Romeros. The Romeros have 30 years of experience in cattle-raising and agriculture, and are proud to open their doors so you may have a true “Tropical Ranch” experience. You will have the opportunity to ride on horseback to the cattle fields where, under the instruction of the “sabaneros”, you will herd cattle and learn about livestock management, before continuing on to view the palm oil fields used for biofuels. Ride the Burro Cable through the exotic fruit plantation and sample “Cas”, one of the most popular native crops. Cross the river in a “chapulin”-pulled wagon and enjoy a snack and the hospitality of the local school children who will demonstrate traditional dances and costumes.

The Traditional Farm Tour
You will be guided through beautiful trails and paths winding through macadamia, coffee, botanical gardens, fresh water springs supplying potable water to nearby communities, and other incredible discoveries you are sure to enjoy. You will participate in many of the farm’s activities and experience a “trapiche”, an oxen drive in operation for 150 years.

Costa Flores is one of the world’s largest tropical flower farms where on 300 acres over 500 varieties are grown for export to florists in North America and Europe.

BOCUARE Reserve
BOCUARE is an 80 hectare farm promoting conservation and sustainable development well-known for its spectacular nature tour and birdwatching. Take a ride in a traditional wagon to the farm’s highest point to view the Reserve. Visit the property’s original sugar mill to learn traditional sugar production methods. Continue your tour with a walk through the butterfly farm, a tortilla making lesson and a typical costarican lunch served while local dancers perform traditional dances.

Heliconias del Caribe
This costarican owned and family managed farm has a production area of 30 hectares in a geographic area well-known for possessing the ideal climate to produce tropical flowers and foliage. A tour of the farm includes a demonstration of flower export operations and a walk through the actual flower fields where you will see various species of hummingbirds.
